Female. 21. Once, I thought that herpes made me different, broken, and ugly. I'm still the same, and my life is actually better than before. STILL LOVABLE. STILL WORTHY. STILL ME, only stronger. tagandothergames@gmail.com |
Thoughts and prayers with us today as we’re headed to the hospital in an hour. Love you all!
Good news, think I have a UTI so I’m pretty stoked on it. Gonna call a doctor tomorrow I think we all know how much I love doctors.
My boyfriend went to the doctor for more testing today. They think he may have colon cancer or a different type of cancer. He has a colonoscopy in three weeks.
I worry that something really bad is going to happen. What happens if he leaves for school again and he gets really sick? I’m so worried over this. He is too, and he’s never worried about anything. What am I really supposed to do?

Oh yeah, cause this is real life.
Either an infection or an allergic reaction. No yeast infection though! I guess that’s just as well. Now I can go back to eating bread. :D
Off to the doctor in a few. Regardless of what they tell me, I’ve gotta tell my mom I’m okay and nothing is wrong. If there was, I don’t know that she would be able to take it.
Anonymous asked: my boyfriend had chlamydia. i took an std test, and i didn't. he took his meds so i assumed he was fine. we just recently had unprotected sex again for the 1st time in a few months. but now i'm worried that maybe his chlamydia didn't go away and i could have it. but i can't go for another std test because last time i went to my doctor, they told me since i already had 2 tests done in less than 1 year, if i get another anytime soon my insurance won't cover it.
I’m sorry, I know hanging out in this kind of limbo isn’t great. If you’ve been tested twice and they were both negative, I would like to think that maybe you didn’t have it. As far as I know, if you have reason to want an STD test, your doctor should give it to you and insurance will pay for it. Insurance coverage goes per calendar year, so you should be able to be tested again. Sometimes having insurance pay for things is a matter of how much pain or distress you’re in. In order for your doctor to submit the bill to your insurance, you may need to fake some kind of pain or symptoms. (I hear this works, as unfortunate as it is). It’s not necessarily ethical and truthful, but you’ve gotta get the job done if your doctor doesn’t want to help you. Other than this option, you can visit a clinic like Planned Parenthood and ask to be tested. I hope everything works out for you. Keep positive with this one, and everything will work out!
Anonymous asked: Hello. Me and my Boyfriend have recently started to have oral sex. However, three days ago he proceeded to have oral sex with me with an under-lying cold sore which he didn't know about. I have checked so many sites for confirmation if i have herpes but so far it's only worried me more. I've had cold sores before and I regularly shave my pubic hair. Although, when I normally shave my pubic hair sometimes I get little red spots/sores from ingrown hairs. I haven't shaved my pubic hair in about a w
The other half of this question: week. I’m very worried as the sores are a symptom or herpes ofcourse but i’m really in no position to do to my doctor and enquire about it, i’m only fifteen. This is the other half of the previous ask btw, i’d really appreciate it if you could help me out. <3
I’m sorry you’re going through this! I learned from my doctor that ingrown hairs and red spots are a result of an infection from shaving your pubic hair. This is due to strep infections that you can pick up on your razor from shaving your legs and then shaving your pubic hair. It’s a good idea to keep a separate razor for each area (don’t mix ‘em up!), that way you don’t infect yourself with strep in your pubic area. You could even consider switching to waxing as well.
As far as asking a doctor, it is definitely something to consider. If you’re having symptoms of herpes or any other symptoms that are worrisome to you, you need to find a way to get to a doctor. I know you may have to hide it from your parents, or you may not. But I know that regardless of what happens, it will be worth it to be seen by a doctor who can help you. In many cases, websites with lists of symptoms create fear and worry, and only a doctor can be the person to give you a clear-cut diagnosis. I hope this helps you, and I hope things get better for you.

Anonymous asked: hey i really need your advice, i read your entry on how you have hsv1 not 2? well i have been trying to figure out whats wrong with me for weeks now. ive gone to the doctors for blood test and exams 2 times, to another doctor for more check ups down there 3 times and no one ever tells me what i have. im getting mental breakdowns everyday bc im 100% its herpes. i juss dont know which one?? i think its hsv1 bcc my blod test was neg for hs2 . i have line things on my cheks, chapted lips&bumpsonvaj
If you are really sure, it’s always good to get a second (and third) opinion, even by a different doctor. My first doctor diagnosed me correctly almost immediately, but she was incredibly uneducated about HSV-1 and HSV-2. I was told by my new doctor that it can sometimes take up to 6 months to produce a positive blood test. Until then, you can ask your doctor to do a culture test. They can swab your mouth and genitals and find out if you are positive for HSV. Though the culture test will NOT tell you the type of HSV you have, it will at least give you a little more information. You may not have it at all. If you don’t, let your doctor know how concerned you are and how much of a toll this is taking on your mental health. Ask to be tested for all other STDs and ask if it could be any other infection or condition.
I hope things go well for you in finding out the answers in this situation. I know it’s difficult in a doctor’s office (especially if you’re young) to be demanding and ask for what you want. Being scared and upset takes a toll on your ability to ask questions and demand answers. Don’t be afraid to stick up for yourself!
My love and support!

I don’t know. I haven’t posted in a few days. I can’t imagine anyone noticing, but I’m just saying, I’ve kind of dropped off of here since my doctor’s appointment, but it’s because I’m doing much better.
I talked to my exboyfriend’s sister the other day. It’s the most contact I’ve made with them in months. I’ve still got books she lent me in January. I figure it’s time I returned them. Unfortunately, of all the things that I ever meant to give back, those are the only ones I have now. Everything else has been thrown away, torn up or burned. I’m okay with that.
I’m sort of getting my shit together. It’s good stuff.
The doctor I went to ended up being awesome. I’m switching from acyclovir to Valtrex and that hopefully will work better. I also got some solutions to some other medical issues I was having. I’m very relieved that I now have a doctor that will listen and help me. She was able to give me the card of a therapist who can help me, as well as more information. (Also, I’m getting a new blood test just in case!)
Thanks everyone for your support. I really appreciate it! =]
I’m having the worst anxiety being in this new gynocologist’s office. I feel like I’m going to have a panic attack, and I’m just in the waiting room. Filled out the paperwork and actually put down for the first time that I have genital herpes. It all became real and I just don’t want to deal with it.
